Barclays Adds Five To Asia Pacific Operations

Barclays has named Helge Weiner-Trapness as head of the financial institutions group for Asia Pacific. He is joined by Steven Sun, who has been appointed Asia Pacific chairman of the financial institutions group. Weiner-Trapness left JP Morgan Chase & Co in 2008 after over six years at the firm, and started working at Barclays in early August 2010. Sun, meanwhile, joined Barclays in 2009 from UBS. Also recently appointed were Randy Gelber, from Bank of America, as head of technology investment banking, and Jorge Munoz and Marco Schwartz as co-heads of equity capital markets for Asia Pacific. Munoz is from Deutsche Bank, while Schwartz came from Barclays Capital in the UK. All positions are based in Hong Kong.
